Reasons to have a home inspection

These are just a few of the homes I have inspected within this past month.
1) 2 year old $600,000 home. All the wood windows were installed using the wrong nails. All of the exposed ends of the nails turned very dark black. (high moisture content in the home) Not a big structural issue, but it looked bad. Every window had dark nail dots . . . . .
Cosmetically not to nice to look at. Especially at $600K.
2) 20 year old home, nicely updated home which had a "roof certification" after a recent hail storm. The "roof certification guys" didn't look in the attic and see the 2 foot in diameter very wet area on the roof sheathing.
3) 7 year home with all the bathroom exhaust vents venting directly into the attic. Moisture damage was very evident.
4) 3 homes all under 5 years old with electrical panels either not labeled at all or poorly labeled which is a huge safety hazard.
Never assume! Especially when it comes to buying a home. There are to many things that can and will cost you money in the long haul. A home inspection is always well worth your time and money.
